Hello there! Welcome. My name is Amy and I help professional singers and inquisitive newbies step into greater vocal freedom and mastery. For 14+ years I have had the delight of teaching men, women and children of all ages to sing with beauty and confidence. You will be able to sing any style of music once you have assimilated this technique.
My teaching style is gentle yet challenging, and strongly rooted in the quality musicianship and vocal technique I was trained in. I have two studios ~ one in Bellingham, WA and the second in Sedro Woolley. I invite you to contact me to see set up your not-awful audition.
Why I Teach
I believe it is important to ask teachers why they teach. I came back to teaching after a brief sabbatical because people began urging me to give them voice lessons, and it kept being so rewarding, for both them and me. From a 13 year-old singing Christmas Carols with all her heart to a 35 year old man finally learning to release long-standing tension in his chest, I adore those breakthrough moments. Being able to lean into music during joyous times and hard times in life is a great solace, a great source of strength. Learning to sing need not have a professional aim – it can just be an exploration, a gift for yourself, an adventure into the expansion of your soul.
